One of my favorite things about teaching pre-school is the flexibility to plan around the interests of my students. When I see that students are using dry erase boards as menus in restaurants, I can pull out our play food and kitchen toys to help them create more play.
I also enjoy bringing up new topics that they can latch onto and be excited about. This week we learned about God rescuing us in hard situations with the example of Peter in jail. To expand on the theme of rescue we also talked about people in our community that rescue us from danger- focusing on fire fighters.
As part of this theme we were able to visit the fire station and see fire fighters in action. We went to the same station last year and this year was equally as fun! The kids had so much fun and were (mostly) on their best behavior!
